Female Karaoke Songs: Top Karaoke Songs For Women

Out with the girls tonight?  Or maybe just need a song in your feminine wheelhouse. Here are 20 popular karaoke songs for women. Listed you’ll find the best female karaoke songs for your night out at the karaoke spot. You go girl!

(Use the Spotify link to hear the original song version.)

1. Pat Benatar – Hit Me With Your Best Shot

There’s a potentially distasteful version of this song where you replace “best shot” with a synonym for a part of the male anatomy. Maybe you’ve heard that version before. I won’t say don’t do that but I will say just know the audience before you get all creative on the bit.

2. Shania Twain – Man! I Feel Like A Woman!

Did you know that Shania Twain is Canadian? It’s not relevant at all to this list but for some strange reason I find it interesting that she’s the best selling female artist in the history of country music. That’s not to say a Canadian can’t be the best selling artist in history, it’s just that I don’t typically associate country music with Canada.

3. Meredith Brooks – Bitch

Particularly good if you A) recently lost a job B) went through a bad breakup C) feel overwhelmingly stressed out or D) want that person hitting on you tonight to get a clue and back off. Or also E) all of the above in which case you may want to sing this one twice.

4. TLC – No Scrubs

Yeah, this was a hugely popular song in the very late ‘90s and early 2000s. Or at least you thought it was because it was seemingly played every 5th song on the radio. This song alone pretty much put TLC on the map and you could do worse for best female karaoke song if hip-hop is your thing.

5. Carrie Underwood – Before He Cheats

Sooo, it’s kind of funny that there’s a line in this song about singing a white trash version of Shania-karaoke, right? You know, because that a few slots up or down in this female karaoke song list you’ll find a Shania song. Funny, right? And, P.S., Carrie doesn’t carve her name into his “legacy,” she carves it into his “leather seat.” Just so we’re clear on that.

6. Cher – If I Could Turn Back Time

Pretty much the anthem for anyone who realizes they messed up in a relationship, am I right or am I right? “Words are like weapons, they wound sometimes” hits the nail on the head. It’s a little challenging in spots but if you’re comfortable singing it then don’t let that stop you.

7. Cyndi Lauper – Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Yep, you’ll find this song on the fun karaoke songs list too! Although I’d be completely remiss if I didn’t include it here on the best karaoke songs for women list. This selection is also a good option to sing with a friend.

8. Shania Twain – That Don’t Impress Me Much

As aforementioned earlier up at #5, here’s one of those Shania songs that you should try to not sound all white-trashy when singing. Ok? Ok. I’m not sure the best way to do this so you’re kind of on your own here.

9. Tina Turner – What’s Love Got To Do With It

Do you like 80s pop R&B? Well then look no further for a song that screams 80s. It’s on Rolling Stone’s list of 500 greatest songs of all time as well as ranked #38 on songs of the century. You might call it a diamond in the rough now that we’re 30+ years removed from the 1980s.

10. Dolly Parton – 9 to 5

It’s no matter if you can’t sing like Dolly because who can!? For obvious reasons it’s the perfect song choice for the weekday happy hour. Have a beverage of your choice to unwind then drop this one in the song queue.

11. Lee Ann Womack – I Hope You Dance

I hope you dance. I hope they dance. I hope everyone in the place gets up and dances. Way more fun and interactive that way. It’s a little slow but a song with great meaning and is a good open to the karaoke night.

12. Amy Winehouse – Rehab

Most likely the signature song for Amy Winehouse, this is a fun a popular selection for the feeling rebellious types. The big voice that Amy had is not necessarily needed either as this song selection is easily manageable if you have some moderate karaoke experience.

13. Christina Aguilera – Come On Over Baby

If your honey is out there tonight why don’t you just go ahead and put your song slip in with this title on it. There you go. Now look directly at them while you’re singing this and watch them turn bright red as their heart melts with delight for you.

14. Mariah Carey – Always Be My Baby

And as your encore to the above (Come On Over Baby), here’s your next song. You’re welcome. 😉

15. Madonna – Like A Virgin

Maybe a bit cliché to include this selection but I can’t tell you how many times a couple of 20-somethings get on stage and “sing” this one. Quotation marks around “sing” because it’s apparently hard to follow the lyrics after 3 lemon drop martinis and a shot or two of Fireball. In all seriousness though it is a pretty fun song for karaoke so that’s why I include it.

16. Tracy Chapman – Give Me One Reason

Single and loving it? Here’s the perfect song for you. If you haven’t heard it before, it’s got repeating lyrics and a bluesy tone. Not too complicated with an “I’m independent and free of you” feel to it.

17. Patsy Cline – Crazy

This one is probably not for the rookie karaoke star. But if you have the chops and love a throwback country ballad, this one’s for you. But then again, you probably already knew that if throwback country ballads are your thing.   LeeAnn Rimes has a version of this one as well but it’s hard not being partial to the iconic Patsy Cline’s rendition.

18. Abba – Mamma Mia

It’s possible this one should also be included on the song list for karaoke duets. But for now It’s here for the women! And everyone loves ABBA so it looks like a win-win to me.

19. Britney Spears – Oops!…I Did It Again

Yeah, of course there’s a Britney Spears song on this list. Did you really think there wouldn’t be? She’s a pop icon for anyone in his or her teenage years from about 1998 to 2005. So, duh.

20. The Weather Girls – It’s Raining Men

Another contender for the good karaoke duet song list, this is a great selection for those of you with a big voice and a big personality. Let them both out here! Plus it’s sure to turn some heads!
